Delta Spirit at Emo’s and Waterloo Records. Moving from their Southern California home base to Brooklyn in 2012 probably seemed like a good idea to the guys in indie-rock quintet Delta Spirit at the time, until Hurricane Sandy stopped in and wrought havoc on the studio they’d built. They regrouped and recorded “Into the Wide,” out this week on Dualtone Records. Singer Matt Vasquez, who grew up in Austin, recently moved back here, which at least partly qualifies the band’s late-afternoon in-store and evening concert as hometown record-release celebrations. (Their local connections also extend to the TV series “Friday Night Lights,” which used Delta Spirit’s song “Devil Knows Your Dead” to play over the final scene of the show’s series finale.) Waterloo: free, 5 p.m., 600-A N. Lamar Blvd., waterloorecords.com. Emo’s: $18, 9 p.m. (opening act EDJ), 2015 E. Riverside Drive, emosaustin.com. — P.B.
