Wild Bill, Magna Carda, Gina Chavez, Soul Track Mind participate
Two weeks ago the Austin Music Video race paired up ten emerging Austin bands with emerging filmmakers in the 2014 Music Video race. The race is a competition that gives artists 48 hours to work in collaboration to produce a new music video. The videos were recorded during the first weekend of September and premiered last weekend at Empire Control Room. Production house Art Asylum and cosmic cowboys Wild Bill & the Knobs won first place in the competition with a dark carnival rendition of “The Show” that includes footage from the Carousel Lounge and Bill made up as a truly terrifying clown.
Several other local artists who participated walked away with great videos.
Tsuki Mah sends a visual love letter to Austin with Magna Carda’s “City to City.”
Yellow House productions offered an upbeat and colorful take on Gina Chavez’ “Gotta Get.”
And Bourke Productions helped Soul Track Mind, who have a new album out today, embrace their inner children with “Ode to the Youth.”
