Where ACL Fest musicians eat in Austin: Riders Against the Storm

Matthew Odam

Husband-and-wife hip-hop duoChaka Mpeanaji and Qi Dadablow into Zilker Park for their debut ACL Fest appearance following a blistering set at the Weird City Hip-Hop Festival. Their tastes range from comfort cooking to refined tasting menus. Some of their favorites in their own words:

Nubian Queen Lola’s: Flavor and spice from NOLA, and a big bang for your buck. Her downhome touch in the kitchen is pure magic.

Hoover’s Cooking: When you just want some nice and easy, no-frills comfort food that sticks to you.

Nice N Ful Vegetarian Soul Food: Good people and flavorful, healthier options.

Veracruz All Natural (Cesar Chavez location): Fresh ingredients and great aguas frescas.

Tyson’s Tacos: It’s a great neighborhood spot with lots of affordable and quirky taco options.

P. Terry’s: Best french fries in the ATX fast food game. Veggie burger kicks booty, too.

Frank: Good veggie hotdog and fixins. Great coffee!

Qui: We went there for Qi’s birthday this year, and man, that food was ridiculous! So much flavor! Expensive, but worth it for special occasions.

Gourdough’s: Doughnuts from every angle imaginable. What else do you want?

Red Rabbit Bakery: Vegan desserts galore that are off the chain!

888 Pan Asian Restaurant: Very affordable and fresh Asian options.

Riders Against the Storm at ACL:11:15 a.m. Saturday on the Austin Ventures stage.
