Wednesday music picks: The Hickoids, Allen Stone
The Hickoids at Guero’s Oak Garden. In an interview earlier this year, David Arnsberger, host of Sun Radio’s weekly Texas Radio Live show at Guero’s, claimed he seeks to push the show’s boundary toward the edges of the station’s Americana format as much as possible. Booking the Hickoids pretty much proves that. Ostensibly cornpone country on the outside, the Hickoids are punkers at heart, and a healthy stretch for the music-and-interview series, which also features Woody Russell this week. Free. 6 p.m. 1412 S. Congress Ave. sunradio.com/texasradiolive. — P.B.
