Tuesday music picks: Laurie Anderson & Kronos Quartet, Widespread Panic
Laurie Anderson & Kronos Quartet at Bass Concert Hall. This collaboration between lauded experimental artist Anderson and the innovative West Coast classical foursome originally was scheduled for last October, but it was canceled when Anderson needed to stay at home with her dying husband, Lou Reed. It was well worth rescheduling even a year later, as the performance features a new collaborative work titled “Landfall” that was commissioned in part by Texas Performing Arts. “Landfall” refers to the onslaught of Hurricane Sandy, which Anderson and Reed witnessed from their Long Island home. $38-$48. 8 p.m. 2350 Robert Dedman Drive. texasperformingarts.org. — P.B.
