The Lone Star Jam returns to the University of Texas at Austin for its eighth year, and tickets for the two-day festival (May 2-3) go on sale at noon Friday. Held on the LBJ Library Lawn, this country music festival has hosted some of the biggest names in the genre throughout its tenure: Randy Rogers Band, Kevin Fowler, Reckless Kelly, Stoney Larue, Eli Young Band, and Roger Creager have all played the Lone Star Jam multiple times. This year’s lineup features Wade Bowen, Jack Ingram, Whiskey Myers, Cory Morrow and four headliners that will be announced in March.

Another now annual Austin event celebrating American country music begins its ticket sales Friday. Serving as the closing ceremonies of the 2015 Mack, Jack, and McConaughey event, Jack Ingram & Friends at ACL Live includes a lineup of singer-songwriters and Jimmy Kimmel as the opening act and emcee. Willis Alan Ramsey, Jon Randall, Jessi Alexander and Will Hoge highlight the long list of performers for the evening. Tickets for the April 17 show go on sale at 10 a.m.

As usual, there are plenty more ticket sales beginning this week in the Live Music Capital of the World:

• Blood on the Dance at Red 7 (April 2)

• Bad Religion at Emo’s (April 5)

• Whirr at Red 7 (April 18)

• Matt Pond PA at Stubb’s (April 19)

Pizza is almost universally loved. Matthew Odam offers his top 10 in Austin. Plus, there’s a little movie called “Fifty Shades of Grey” opening, among others.
