Today might be National Cheese Day (as well as the less celebrated National Old Maids Day), but tomorrow, June 5, marks a slot on the "national day" carousel that you'll actually want to celebrate (without adding any inches to your waistline).

That's right -- tomorrow is the first Wednesday of June, Global Running Day, and whether you're a seasoned marathoner or have barely jogged a step since gym class, runners of all skill levels are welcome to join the 10th annual celebration at Austin's Global Running Day

Jog over to the Austin American-Statesman parking lot at 305 South Congress Avenue at 6:00 p.m. Grab a map and some water, join the group stretch at 6:10 p.m. and take off on your evening run with some new friends at 6:30 p.m.

Please note that this is a social run, not a race! Organized routes vary between three and six miles on the Butler Hike and Bike Trail, though runners are welcome to adjust as needed.

Check out the event's Facebook page for more information.
