“Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley.” It’s the final week to enjoy a Jane Austen Christmas. The Austin Playhouse takes on a charmingly imagined sequel to Austen’s beloved literary romance “Pride and Prejudice” to tell the story of the oft-overlooked, bookish middle sister Mary. She has come into her own as a confident woman — ready for love at last when the family reunites for Christmas at Pemberley. Thankfully, Mr. Darcy’s aristocratic but socially bumbling bookworm cousin turns up. 8 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, 5 p.m. Sunday through Dec. 23. $16-$36. 6001 Airport Blvd.


“Celtic Christmas at the Cathedral.” Some of the city’s most honored vocalists have come together for this night of wonder and beauty. Their voices combined within the extraordinary schola cantorum of St. Mary’s Cathedral are paired perfectly by traditional Irish and Scottish music played by artists of the Celtic Cultural Center. 7:30 to 10 p.m. Dec. 21-22. $30. 203 E. Esther’s Follies. It’s the Holly, Jolly Follies — the most wonderful time of the year. At least it is at Esther’s, where the performers are turning their comedic sights on holiday tradition and dysfunction in the White House with “A Trump Family Christmas” and “The Trump Wives Club.” Esther’s troupe will also roll out its annual “Esther’s Follies Dysfunctional Family Holiday” with burned ham, stiff drinks and family secrets. 8 p.m. Thursday, 8 and 10 p.m. Friday-Saturday in December. $25-$35. 525 E. Gardening calendar

Guided Garden Tour. Tour the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center’s gardens and trails with a knowledgeable volunteer docent, who will talk about native plants and the history and architecture of the center. Each of the docents brings his or her own interests to the tour, and sites change throughout the seasons. 11 a.m. to noon Dec. 21-23. $4-$10. 4801 La Crosse Ave.

C0ming up

Cane Rosso’s pop-up with Anthony Falco. A famed pizza guru known for a toppings-happy approach to making pizza is taking over Cane Rosso’s second pizza oven to bring a special menu of all-American pies to Austin. These pizzas will be cooked thin and crispy using ingredients entirely from around the country, many locally from Texas. He’ll also supply ranch made with the recipe he is developing for his forthcoming line of ranch dressings, designed specifically for pizza dipping.
