Coronavirus concerns lead to postponement of Far East Fest
Austinites hoping to get a taste of myriad Asian flavors in one space will have to make new plans. The Austin Asian Community Health Initiative (AACHI) has indefinitely postponed its third annual Far East Fest, planned for March 29 at H-Mart, due to public safety concerns surrounding the COVID-19 Coronavirus. Ticket purchasers will receive a full refund and receive emails in the coming days confirming the refund.
The organization said it will continue to monitor the situation and looks forward to announcing a new date for the festival.
“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our ticket purchasers, and to the generous partners and sponsors of the festival, but look forward to celebrating with our community in the future,” the organization said in a release posted to its website.
Public safety and travel concerns sparked by the Coronavirus has also led to some corporations pulling out of the upcoming South by Southwest Festival slated to start March 13.
