You want to get some emails about how beloved Saccone’s Pizza & Subs is? Leave it off a list of best pizza places in Austin and wait for the devotees to come screaming. It’s happened to me.

The restaurant owned by New Jersey native Dan Saccone that serves great big sandwiches and tasty pie opened in Leander in 1997 and expanded to FM 620 in Anderson Mill a year later. The second restaurant closed last March, but now Saccone’s is back. The new location of Saccone’s will open Saturday at at Market at Lake Creek, 13776 N. US Highway 183, Suite 131.

“Saccone’s is coming full-circle with our brand new location at Market at Lake Creek,” Saccone said. “We’re thrilled to once again be serving customers in the Anderson Mill area and look forward to being a part of this community.”

While unknown to some in South Austin or the city center, Saconne’s has won several awards over the years, including in the Traditional Pizza category for the Southwest Region and International Division at the International Pizza Expo and in the traditional American Pizza Division at the Trofeo Caputo World Pizza Competition in Naples.

The new location is part of the NJ Pizza Restaurant Group LP and is the first location from the franchisee partnership between Saccone and Jon Garland, a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu who has a decade of experience in the restaurant industry.
