Award-winning Comedor launches taco tasting menu
Comedor doesn’t need it to be a Tuesday to celebrate tacos. The modern Mexican restaurant that has drawn raves from the Statesman and was named one of the best new restaurants in the country by Esquire magazine is adding to its offerings by rolling out a taco tasting menu. The three ($15) and five-course ($25) menus at the upscale downtown restaurant will be offered at the bar weekdays during the 5-6:30 p.m. window of happy hour.
Given the thoughtfulness and creativity of the kitchen led by chefs Gabe Erales and Philip Speer, guests can expect an ever-changing seasonal menu that echoes previous taco preparations like masa fried monkfish and grilled squash glazed in sikil pak miso with mole Amarillo. There will also be a dessert taco from multiple James Beard semi-finalist nominee Speer. And one of the best agave-based spirits lists in the city will be sourced for mezcal pairings for an additional cost of $24-$28 for five half-ounce pours.
The new taco offerings join a regular Comedor menu that includes exciting dishes like scallop crudo, a double-cut pork chop and grilled octopus. Read more about Comedor in our October review.
