Austin Tex-Mex institution El Patio reopens this Friday
That didn’t take long. A week after new ownership announced it would reopen El Patio by the end of the month, the Austin classic is ready for customers. The 65-year-old restaurant, recently purchased by a group that includes the granddaughter of founder Paul Joseph, will fittingly open on a University of Texas home football weekend.
“I can’t wait to open those doors back up and greet the customers who have been like part of our own family for years,” said Kristyn Ciani, one of the new owners and granddaughter of El Patio founder, Paul Joseph.
Customers can expect the same employees and same menu, along with expanded drink offerings and Sunday service. After Friday, El Patio will be open Wednesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
