Franklin Barbecue goes on vacation

The barbecue business is tireless work. You need people stoking fires almost around the clock, keeping an eye on meat and wind and barometric pressure. Then there's the actual food service aspect. And when you're arguably the most famous barbecue restaurant in America, things an get a little hectic. So, a vacation is rightly in order. Franklin Barbecue closed after service yesterday for the restaurant's annual summer vacation. The restaurant on East 11th Street will reopen on Friday, August 9.
