There's a new place for plantains and mojitos in downtown Austin.

Cuba 512 recently opened its downtown location at 906 Congress Ave. in the former Planet Sub space. The fast-casual restaurant from Cuba native Iskander Gener serves a menu of Cuban-influenced dishes like yuca frita, empanadas, black bean soup, puntas de res and pollo al horno, as well as cocktails such as daiquiris and mojitos.

The original location of Cuba 512 opened at 6800 West Gate Blvd. in 2015. The new location features an edited menu of the original and offers a full bar and seating for 70, as well as online ordering.
