Uchi opening restaurant in Florida

Uchi’s expansion beyond the Texas borders continues apace.

The trailblazing sushi restaurant opened by chef Tyson Cole in 2003 (!!) has announced that it will open a location in Miami. While the menu appears to be similar to the locations in Austin, Dallas, Houston and Denver, no details have been announced on the location in Miami or the estimated opening date.

The first out-of-Texas Uchi opened in Denver last fall. This will be the eighth restaurant from Hai Hospitality, which also operates Uchiko and Loro in Austin. Hai’s recent expansion has come under the stewardship of Hai CEO Tony Montero, a former regional vice president for Cheesecake Factory who joined the Hai team from Craftworks Restaurants and Breweries, Inc. in the spring of 2017.
