Don’t look now, but the West Lake dining scene is on the come up. The area has added locally owned Sway modern Thai and quality fast-casual Mediterranean restaurant Cava in the past year, and sometime early next year, West Lake will welcome Saffron. There is signage up in a storefront at the West Woods Shopping Center (3201 Bee Cave Road), coincidentally home to Cava, announcing that Saffron will open there soon.
The Indian-Nepalese restaurant on Far West Boulevard is well regarded (including by this critic) for its Nepalese momos, achari chicken, goat stew and tandoori meats. The original location from co-owners Thiniso Tashi and Rajesh Ghimire opened in early 2016.
