Now open: So you’re downtown and looking for chicken strip paradise

Bones! Who needs them? Not you. 

Not in your chicken, anyway. Good news for chicken strip fanatics: The tender-lovin’ restaurant Happy Chicks recently opened its second location in downtown Austin, according to Eater Austin. The new finger-feeding joint opened Sept. 7 at 360 Nueces Street, the food news site reports.

The chicken strip hotspot roosts in the space previously occupied by Nueces Kitchen and Bar, according to Eater Austin. The other location of Happy Chicks is located at 214 E. 6th St.

Happy Chicks’ menu includes both original and spicy chicken strips in various states of assembly; 15 sauces; and sides like bacon macaroni and cheese and roasted cream corn, because sides are very important. Also: beer and cocktails.

The new Nueces location of Happy Chicks is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. The Sixth Street location opens at the same time and keeps the grease boiling a little later: midnight Sunday-Wednesday and 2 a.m. on Thursday-Saturday.
