JuiceLand continues its expansion across all of Austin with the arrival of a new shop just east of downtown.

The locally based juice brand is among the first retail tenants to open in the 10-acre mixed-use development still being built between East Fourth and East Fifth streets, just a block from Interstate 35. (Once known as Plaza Saltillo, the project was renamed to be simply Saltillo in 2017.)

At 1109 E. Fifth St. #110, the new JuiceLand, which officially opened its doors Monday, will have what's available at the 24 other Austin-area locations: fresh-pressed juices, smoothies, açaí bowls and grab-and-go meals including wraps and salads. JuiceLand's meals are always vegan.

The Saltillo development will have a variety of other retail shops and restaurants joining the juice and smoothie shop once construction is fully finished, though which ones those are seem to change every few months.

Saltillo's first restaurant, the brunch-obsessed Snooze, an A.M. Eatery, opens on Sept. 25, and subsequent projects include Hopdoddy Burger Bar, Dolce Neve Gelato and Gyu-Kaku, a global Japanese barbecue chain. Target and Whole Foods Market are among the high-profile retailers headed there. Previously reported Saltillo businesses such as Chuy's Tex-Mex, the Ginger Man and Epoch Coffee will no longer be moving in.

JuiceLand's Saltillo location will be open seven days a week. For more information, visit
