These guys were so upset about Whataburger's new ownership they made a viral music video
"I never thought you would leave, honey butter, you are drowning me!"
"He won't ever melt your patty like I do, don't you ever think of touching that menu."
Many Texans are desolate about the sale of homegrown state favorite Whataburger to a Chicago investment firm, but perhaps none more so than Matt Upshaw, Cooper Bascom and Seth Rasher, who wrote a song and recorded a now-viral music video called "Dear Whataburger" blasting the burger chain for leaving the Lone Star State.
The music video has received more than 63,000 views since it was uploaded to Facebook last Friday. The three men are based in Waco, according to a KXAN report, and Upshaw wrote the song, Rasher came up with a beat and Bascom contributed the vocals.
