It has been roughly a year and a half since "Game of Thrones" fans saw a new episode of the epic HBO show — but on Sunday, finally, we'll be able to see what happens in the minutes, hours, days since Daenerys Targaryen’s beloved dragon-turned-White Walker weapon destroyed the Wall with his breath of ice.

In celebration of the show's final season, Austin venues are hosting related events this week, from trivia nights to, perhaps most importantly, watch parties on the evening "Game of Thrones" debuts anew. Here's where to get excited about the upcoming episodes and where to watch them, too.

Don't forget to catch up on the show with our “Game of Thrones” newsletter, featuring weekly recaps and podcast analysis.

April 10

"Game of Thrones" Trivia. There's no better way to catch up on the hit HBO show before its return for a final season on April 14 than with a quiz night where you'll be tested on your knowledge of the prior seven seasons. Prizes and drink specials will be offered throughout trivia. Sign-ups begin at 6:30 p.m., with the quiz at 7:30. Free. The Volstead, 1500 E. 6th St.

April 11

"Game of Thrones" Themed Dinner. It might be worth a drive to Salado to indulge in this multi-course meal at the scenic Alexander's at Inn on the Creek. Each course is inspired by a different region of Westeros, and presumably this feast is not going to have a Red Wedding-type of ending, since your host will not be Walder Frey.  $69.95. 602 Center Circle, Salado.

GoT Premiere Painting Party. Painting with a Twist hosts a celebration of the show's season premiere. Bring your friends for door prizes, trivia and step-by-step instruction on how to recreate a themed painting — of a snowy white wolf that looks rather like Ghost, Jon Snow's direwolf. BYOB drinks and food. $35 per person. 9600 S. Interstate 35 Ste. P600.

April 13

Game of Dragons at Pinot's Palette. Paint a majestic pitch-colored dragon silhouetted in the light of a celestial moon. Because you can BYOB, this night of arts 'n' crafts could be the perfect girls' night when, of course, you'll gab with your best bud about all your "Game of Thrones" predictions. $35 per painter. 13435 N. Hwy. 183 Ste. 306.

Game of Homes at Austin Animal Center. Because of this "Game of Thrones" adoption event, friendship is coming to certain Austinites. All adoption fees will be $8 only during the weekend. Meet the likes of Rabbit Baratheon, Samwell Tabby, Kahl Doggo, Arya Bark and more if you haven't already fainted from the awesomeness of all those puns. Adoption special starts at 11 a.m. Saturday and ends at 7 p.m. Sunday (an hour before the show hits our screens).

April 14

"Game of Thrones" Season 8 Premiere and Season 7 Binge Watch. Need to catch up on the most recent events of the show? The North Door has your back with an all-day watch party that will conclude with the new episode. Tacos from Pueblo Viejo and themed drink specials at the bar will be available while you enjoy "Game of Thrones" on the North Door's 25 ft. HD screen. There are no tickets for the event; entry is first come, first serve. 502 Brushy St.

"Game of Thrones" Watch Parties at Nickel City. The East Austin neighborhood bar is hosting family-friendly watch parties of the new season starting with the premiere. 1133 E. 11th St.

"Game of Thrones" Watch Parties. Not far from the North Door, Native Hostel is also throwing weekly watch parties with screenings, drinks and general revelry. Come early to share your predictions; stay afterward to marvel at WTF just happened. Costumes, by the way, are highly encouraged. 807 E. 4th St.
