Creek Show, with its light-based art installations, opens Thursday for its 10-night run along the newly rechristened Waterloo Greenway. Because of the rainy weather, planned live music and the kids zone with family activities are canceled for opening night, according to a spokesperson for the show. The lights will be on — pieces were created by teams of local artists, landscape architects and designers — and the lounge will be open.

There is a special installation by students at the University of Texas called “Creek Monster Habitat” in honor of the show’s logo, a whimsical amphibious character.
Creek Show is open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. through Nov. 17 and is free to attend. Visitors can start at 700 E Ninth St. Information and a map here.
