Demand high for 'Dear Evan Hansen' in Austin, ticket lottery announced

The folks at Broadway in Austin report that interest in tickets for the Tony Award-winning musical "Dear Evan Hansen," which plays Bass Concert Hall Dec. 10-15, is unusually high. Well, surely not "Hamilton" high, but intense enough to warn audiences to act swiftly when single tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Sept. 12.

As such, they encourage folks to sign up for email updates at

Nevertheless, the producers will, as is the custom with high-demand shows, offer a digital lottery for a limited number of $25 tickets for each performance.

"The digital lottery will begin accepting entries 48 hours prior to the first performance and entries will be accepted until 9 a.m. local time the day before the performance," the producers explained in a statement. "Fans who have been selected will be notified daily via email and can then purchase up to two tickets at $25 each. The ticket lottery will continue on a rolling basis for every performance in the engagement."
