Easter eats: Find brunch, picnics to-go and desserts for Easter celebrations in Austin

With Easter just days away on April 4, it's time to figure out what to eat for the spring holiday and whether or not you want to cook. For those who would prefer not to chop vegetables, there are restaurants all over Austin with Easter options.

Many are going beyond the traditional brunch menu and offering picnic baskets, reheatable meals and dessert boxes in light of pandemic caution. There's a fair share of restaurants with dine-in options, too. 

Aba: The Mediterranean restaurant is offering Easter to-go with a set menu that includes beef tenderloin kebab with lemon dill rice, spicy hummus and isot double chocolate cake. All food is served cold with reheat instructions. Orders should be made the day before by 8 p.m., and they can be delivered or picked up April 3 and 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (1011 S. Ciclo at Four Seasons Hotel Austin: Ciclo will host two seatings for a five-course Easter brunch, one at 10 a.m. and another at 1 p.m. Reservations can be made via phone or Open Table. CRÚ Food + Wine Bar: CRÚ is serving up Easter brunch and dinner with dine-in and takeout options. Mimosas, bellinis and ciprianis will go for $3 each, and all bottles of wine will be discounted. Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar: Fleming's will have a choice of a three-course dine-in meal that consists of items like filet mignon, lobster tail scampi and New York cheesecake. For those wanting to dine at home, Fleming's is offering a filet Wellington family menu for folks to prepare at home. Orders must be made online by April 1. (320 E. FoliePop’s: FoliePop's has any Austinite with a sweet tooth covered. They're offering an Easter egg hunt cake, where an Easter egg made of coconut mousse with a mango-passion fruit coulis at the center is laid upon a nest made of buttery sponge cake and chocolate. FoliePop's is offering Easter desserts with looks to match.

Gati: Folks can order Easter desserts online anytime up to 9 p.m. on March 29. They are whipping up gluten-free and vegan cakes as well as whole pies and lemon bars. (1512 Holly St.; 512-220-1077,

Goodall's: At Hotel Ella, Goodall's is celebrating Easter Sunday with prix-fixe brunch and a Tiny Tails petting zoo from noon to 3 p.m. Folks can also order picnic baskets by midnight on March 27. Baskets go for $150 and feed four people. (1900 Rio Grande; 800-311-1619,

Juniper: On Easter Sunday, Juniper will host a prix-fixe brunch featuring pastries and classic Juniper dishes like Uncle Nicky's Plate and pork and beef Bolognese lasagna. Lamberts: The restaurant is hosting family-style Easter brunch and dinner. The menu includes fried green tomatoes with crab salad, smoked game hen, lemon cream tarts and more. Quack's: The bakery's three locations all will offer a variety of Easter-themed desserts, including lemon raspberry cupcakes, DIY Easter egg cookie kits and 6-inch carrot "bunny cakes." Second Bar + Kitchen: Guests can choose to dine in with a special Easter menu featuring asparagus and sun-dried tomato tarts, deviled eggs with sauce gribiche and slow-roasted uncured ham.
