The strawberry buttermilk pie at Foreign & Domestic delivers a big blast of comfort and nostalgia. Lynda M. Gonzalez/AMERICAN-STATESMAN

Foreign & Domestic was one of Austin360’s Top 25 restaurants in 2016. In 2017, founder and chef Ned Elliott sold the restaurant to focus his attention on future locations in Houston and his hometown of Cincinnati. So, is the rebooted Foreign & Domestic a neighborhood restaurant or a destination dining spot? Or, can it be both?
