It’s the last day of summer, so check these things off your bucket list
It’s the last day of summer, but we all know that in Austin, that doesn’t mean much. It’s still going to be quite hot for quite a while, so you’ve still got a few more weeks (months?) of summer-ish temperatures. Thankfully, we have some ideas for how to spend those dog days.
Drink or eat something frozen. Sure, bars and restaurants and coffee shops may be rolling out their pumpkin spice or otherwise-holiday-themed beverages (alcoholic and otherwise), and you can sip on those and pretend like you feel a brisk fall breeze -- or you could just accept your fate and get a frosé. There are also plenty of places in Austin to get a frosty milkshake, a scoop of ice cream or gelato, a syrupy snow cone or an ice cold paleta.
?Take a dip. The best thing about many of Austin’s natural swimming holes? They don’t close after Labor Day. From Barton Springs to Hamilton Pool to Jacob’s Well, check out this definitive guide to Central Texas’ swimming holes and check a few more must-visit joints off your list.
