Blanton offers free screening of ‘Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry’
On Aug. 15, as part of its monthly Third Thursday slate of evening activities, the Blanton Museum of Art offers a free screening of the 2012 documentary “Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry.”
The film provides a glimpse of the boundary-less swirl of politics, aesthetics, social media and activism that make up Ai Weiwei’s uniquely 21st-century profile as an artist/objector.
As part of the Blanton’s screening, Asian art scholar Hao Sheng will discuss the film and Ai’s work. The Blanton’s current exhibit, “Lifelike,” features a small sculpture by Ai.
