Texas Performing Arts announces 2014-2015 season
Martha Graham Dance Company, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Laurie Anderson and the retro cabarat singer Max Raabe and his Palast Orcheste are part of the 2014-2015 season for Texas Performing Arts, the University of Texas arts presenters announced Thursday.
Also on the roster is “How Little You Are,” new music by composer Nico Muhl to be performed by Grammy-nominated choir Conspirare, the LA Guitar Quartet, the Dublin Guitar Quartet and the Texas Guitar Quartet.
Other new music on the schedule includes innovative ensemble So Percussion and alt chamber music composed and played by Stewart Copeland, drummer for The Police, and Texas-based pianist Jon Kimura Parker.
Texas Performing Arts will also premiere “Basetrack,” a multimedia show conceived by journalist Teru Kuwayama based on stories of military members stationed in Afghanistan and their families as they struggle to cope with separation and the uncertainties of war.
