Cyclists, we’ve got until the end of August to help officials decide where to put stations for the new bike share system that’s coming to Austin.

To suggest a location, vote on already proposed locations and pick a color preference for the bicycles, go to www.votebikeshareaustin.com.

The City of Austin’s Public Works’ Bicycle Program and Bike Share of Austin will also gather suggestions via mobile devices at several Austin locations. During upcoming events at Austin City Hall and Capital Metro’s Plaza Saltillo Station people will be able to talk to staff members about the program and see the equipment. A schedule of events is listed at www.votebikeshareaustin.com and www.austintexas.gov/bikeshare.

Later this year, the first 10 stations and approximately 100 bikes will hit the streets. The rest of the stations will be installed by early 2014. In all, the system will include about 40 stations, 400 bikes and 600 docks.
