Drink beer, help Austin Ridge Riders

Proceeds from beer sales at a traveling film fest next week will benefit the Austin Ridge Riders Mountain Bike Club.
Yes, that’s right. Drink beer, promote cycling.
New Belgium Brewing’s Clips Beer and Film Tour is scheduled for 7 p.m. Sept. 26 at Republic Square Park, 422 Guadalupe Street.
The 20 short films featured at the event, all created by New Belgium fans, don’t really have anything to do with bikes (that we know of, anyway.) But New Belgium has always promoted a bike-friendly culture. Besides, they’ve got a bike in their logo, for goodness sake!
This year’s lineup (this is the fourth year of the tour) includes films about mastering the technique of dice rolling, the quest for the ultimate full moon photograph, a duel to be the hippest hipster and homebrewing in a small New York City apartment.
But the biggest draw may be the beer. Up to 16 varieties will be on tap, and guests can buy 3-ounce samples for $1.25 or 12-ounce pours for $5. Organizers say 100 percent of proceeds from beer sales will benefit Ridge Riders.
Food from Lucky J’s Chicken and Waffles and the Seedling Truck will also be available.
Admission to the event is free.
