Streaming Colors calendar lets you log exercise

I like to track things, especially things like swimming, running and biking.
And since 2004 I’ve loyally logged all my workouts in a special little calendar that caters to my obsessive compulsive nature.
I’m almost embarrassed to admit it, but I’ve kept those calendars, too, so I can look back and tell you that on May 25, 2005, I swam 2 miles and biked 12 miles. Or that on Jan. 24 of this year I swam 2.5 miles and took a yoga class.
This sounds crazy, I know. But I’m a list maker and visual thinker. I’ve got to-do lists taped all over my workspace and at home, and I love crossing stuff off of them.
Same thing with the Streaming Colors calendar. Every time I complete a workout, I fill in a square with color. Blue for swimming. Red for running. Orange for biking. Yellow for yoga. Pink for water skiing. Green for backpacking.
Something about filling in those empty white blocks with color makes me happy. I hate to see one stay blank, and that alone motivates me to get out and exercise. At the end of the month, I get a secret thrill if I’m looking at a page bursting with color.
You can set the color coding up anyway you want. And you don’t even have to track exercise with the calendar. You could use it for teeth flossing or dish washing or water drinking.
Simple but effective. And I swear I’m not being paid to tell you this.
