Refresh. Revive. Reinvent.

That’s the mantra behind Prevention Magazine’s R3 Prevention Summit, scheduled for Friday and Saturday at the Long Center, 701 Riverside Drive.

Participants in the two-day gathering can attend sessions about everything from the science of sleep to skin care, relaxation, aging gracefully with yoga and meditation. Prevention contributors, national health and wellness experts and local chefs will lead programming. Healthy cooking demonstrations, neck massages and henna painting are part of the lineup.

Speakers at the event will include the Statesman’s own food columnist, Addie Broyles; local chefs Shawn Cirkiel and David Bull; actress Mariel Hemingway; Kate Lowenstein, Prevention’s health director; and Chris Freytag, chairman of the board for the American Council on Exercise.

Tickets are $85 at www.PreventionR3summit.com. A portion of proceeds benefits the Zumba Global Research Grant for Breast Cancer Prevention. Attendees must be 21 or older.
