When the new boardwalk opens this summer, traffic will spike on the eastern portion of the Butler Hike and Bike Trail.

Want a say in how the part of the trail between Interstate 35 and Longhorn Dam looks in the future?

The Trail Foundation and the Austin Parks and Recreation Department need help developing their Southeast Shore Master Plan. Here are three ways for you to pitch in:

  • Write your suggestions on the large maps that will be set up from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at two points on the trail - one underneath Interstate 35, on the north side of the river, the other underneath Loop 1 (MoPac) at the Johnson Creek Trailhead.
  • Fill out an online survey at www.TrailSurvey.com.
  • Attend a community meeting from 6-8 p.m. Jan. 29 at Fiesta Gardens, 2101 Jesse E. Segovia Street.
