Say goodbye to the Rogue location on San Marcos Street.

The east side running gear store will close sometime in January, but a new incarnation will open on the other side of town the same month.

Rogue will share the new space at 410 Pressler Street with PureAustin Fitness, which will open a satellite branch there. The renovated building once housed Ben’s Workshop. Now it’ll be called the 410 Speedshop.

Rogue opened its first store, the 3,200-square-foot space on San Marcos Street, in 2008. A second location opened a few years later in Cedar Park.

The new 11,000-square-foot shared facility will have about twice as much retail space, more training room and offices, plus a shared changing area with showers and bathrooms. A coffee and smoothie bar will serve beer and wine in the evenings.

“We’re excited about the space,” said Rogue co-owner Ruth England. “We’ll be a little more in the mix, right on running shoe row. The east side store definitely had the hipster factor, but you had to know you were coming to Rogue to get a pair of shoes.”

England expects the new location to draw more drop-in business. For more information about Rogue, go to www.roguerunning.com.
