A memorial bike ride to honor a cyclist killed in Round Rock the week before Christmas is scheduled for Saturday.

Joseph Holan died Dec. 17 while biking to work. Holan wrote about his cycling experiences on his blog, Advantage Bike, at http://www.advantagebike.blogspot.com/. He and his wife had four children.

Fellow cyclists are invited to join the ride, organized by the non-profit group Please Be Kind to Cyclists, at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. The ride will start at the Round Rock REI, 201 University Oaks Boulevard.

Participants should meet in the parking lot at 9 a.m. Cyclists will ride 1 mile to the crash location, where friends and family will place a white ghost bike to symbolize the loss of a loved one.
