Mountain bikers will rumble over limestone ledges and up rocky inclines at Flat Creek Crossing Ranch in Henly during the Mellow Johnny’s Classic March 1 and 2.

The Hill Country race is the first stop on the new four-race USA Cycling U.S. Cup Pro Series. The course, which is rarely open to the public, features plenty of technical singletrack, with steep verticals and sharp dropoffs, according to race organizers.

Registration is open at www.bikereg.com/Net/2014-mellow-johnnys-classic. Entry fees range from $15 to $50 per race.

An on-site expo will feature booths from bike companies and other exhibitors, and food trailers will sell refreshments. Fans can watch the race from designated “fan zones.”

Mellow Johnny’s will host a party at the shop with refreshments, entertainment, rider appearances and raffles. For more information go to www.mellowjohnnys.com.
