Feel safer pedaling in bike lanes? Wish your favorite restaurant had a bike rack? Want a hand in shaping the future of cycling in Austin?

Bike Austin is hosting a summit May 3-4 to plan its strategy for the next three to five years. The new organization, created by a merger between the Austin Cycling Association and Bike Austin, is dedicated to promoting cycling for transportation and recreation in Central Texas.

Bicycling advocates, shop owners, community leaders, bicycle club representatives, social riders, elected officials, educators, transportation officials and others are invited to the event, titled “Accelerate: Community Strategy Summit on the Future of Austin Bicycling.”

Those interested in attending should RSVP by April 28 at http://bikeaustin.eventbrite.com.
