Students and staff of Austin Community College get a cut on memberships to Austin’s new bike share system, officials announced today.

Under a new partnership with Austin B-cycle, they can purchase a 5-month semester membership for $25 - that’s half of the regular cost - by entering the code ACCsemester when signing up with an ACC email address. They can also get an annual membership for $60 by entering the code ACCannual.

Austin B-cycle opened in late December with 11 stations clustered around downtown. The non-profit organization has opened 15 additional stations since then, including two at ACC’s downtown Rio Grande Campus.

By March, 40 stations should be up and running.

“Austin B-cycle is a fast, easy way for students and staff to unlock downtown and get where they want to go,” Elliott McFadden, executive director of Austin B-cycle, said in a press release. “With this partnership, B-cycle can grow to be another transportation choice for more in our community.”
