Tito’s offering free rides via bus during SXSW

Sure, during South by Southwest you can take a taxi or pedicab or pray your shoes are tough enough to get you everywhere, but you’ve got a couple other options as well.

Austin-based Tito’s Handmade Vodka is again offering free rides – this time via a newly renovated bus – to SXSW attendees during each day of the festival to promote responsible drinking.

From 1 to 7 p.m. every day through Sunday, the bus will loop around downtown and the South Congress area picking up anyone 21 and older who might need a ride.

To find out where the Tito’s bus is on its set route (it can take up to an hour to complete a loop in heavy traffic), watch the #TitosBus hashtag on Twitter, where Tito’s will keep you updated on the bus’ current location. It’s mainly shooting up and down Congress – all the way down to Doc’s and, on Friday and Saturday, to the Statesman during our Rock the Lot event – before going west down Sixth Street and shooting back toward Congress via Fifth Street. Along the route are seven clearly marked designated stops.

Another option is to tweet Captain Morgan Rum, @CaptainMorganUS, and if one of the pedicabs that have partnered with the rum company is available, a driver will come pick you up.

Tito’s Vodka, which became the first legal distillery in Texas in 1997, has been offering SXSW rides, previously with a trolley, for three years now.
