Opal Divine’s 6th Annual American Whiskey Festival, 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday, May 1. Tastings of American bourbon and Tennessee, Canadian and rye whiskies. $40 online; $45 at the door.

Tap Attack with Brooklyn Brewery’s Steve Hindy at 24 Diner, 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 2. Have a pint of Brooklyn beer with the brewery’s founder — $4 Brooklyn Lager, Summer Ale, Sorachi Ace and Hammarby Syndrome — before heading over to BookPeople to listen to him speak about his new book, “The Craft Beer Revolution.”

Wine Workshop: Prosecco and Rose from the Veneto Region at Central Market, 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 2. As part of Central Market’s Passport to Italy series, try Italian wines paired with Italian small plates.

Uchiko Sake Pairing, 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Thursday, May 15. Henry Sidel, the founder of Joto Sake, along with five Japanese sake brewers, are in town to discuss sake flavors and pairings while Uchiko chefs explain the culinary inspiration behind the dishes they created for the seven-course dinner. $100.

Pairing Dinner: Summertime Wines at Central Market, 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 16. Four-course meal paired with Nice Winery wines, including their Sauvignon Blanc, Malbec and Cabernet.

Marcato Winery Dinner at Gusto, 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 21. Reservations are required for this six-course wine dinner at Gusto, where you’ll have the chance to try Italian wines from Marcato. $85.

Cinebrew at Violet Crown Cinema, 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 21. A Sundance Film Festival prize-winner, “Brick” will play while you sip on either the Prairie Coffee Noir or Wine Barrel Noir.

Beer Pairing Dinner with Odell Brewing at Central Market, 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 22. Four-course meal paired up with Odell beers, including Loose Leaf, Myrcenary and St. Lupulin. $60.

Maifest at Saengerrunde Hall, 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 31. The 2nd Annual Austin Maifest, benefiting Foodways Texas, showcases German-style beers from 10 Central Texas breweries. $25 in advance, $30 at the door.
