Austin breweries team up for Barks for Beers

Arianna Auber

One weekend remains for a canine-friendly fundraiser at a handful of local breweries.

It’s pretty easy: drink a pint of beer for a good cause. Barks for Beers is raising money for Divine Canines, a local nonprofit that provides free animal-assisted therapy to area schools, hospitals and nursing homes but doesn’t have the ability to spread much beyond the services currently offered — something that beer drinkers can help change.

Here’s how it works. Buy a special Divine Canines pint glass and accompanying “pawsport” at any one of the eight participating breweries (full list below) and get a free pint of beer. Once you’ve got the “pawsport,” you can take it and the glass around to the other breweries for additional free pours. The last day of Barks for Beers is Sunday.
