Wheatsville to open second location on Friday

Addie Broyles

Wheatsville Food Co-op is officially opening its second location at 4001 S. Lamar Blvd. at 7:30 a.m. on Friday.

If you’ve been following the grocery news this week, you’ll know that that’s the same day, but half an hour earlier, than the slated Trader Joe’s opening over at 2805 Bee Cave Road in Rollingwood.

We’ll have a full story in next week’s food section about what this new location of Wheatsville means for the 37-year-old Austin institution, but you can hear more about it in our Austin360 Google+ Hangout tomorrow at noon.

I’ll be swinging by both stores first thing tomorrow morning, but in the meantime, what are you most excited about: Trader Joe’s coming to Austin or the new Wheatsville?
