Food blogging conference TECHmunch returns March 9 at Whole Foods
The traveling food blogger conference TECHmunch was birthed in Austin in 2010, and this year, it returns for the fifth consecutive year of bringing together photographers, writers, social media and marketing experts for a daylong conference at Whole Foods Market downtown, 525 N. Lamar Blvd.
Founded by Babette Pepaj of Bakespace.com, TECHmunch will take place from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 9, at the Whole Foods flagship store, and will feature speakers including chef Brian Malarkey of Searsucker; Austin American-Statesman columnist Michael Barnes; Natanya Anderson, who is director of social media at Whole Foods and was the founding president of the Austin Food Blogger Alliance; Los Angeles new media expert Kristin Guy of thecuisinerd.com; and EatingRules.com and BlogTutor.com founder and Andrew Wilder. (Disclosure: I’m a co-founder of the Austin Food Blogger Alliance, and I’m also scheduled to interview Malarkey in the first session of the day.)
The event is not affiliated with South by Southwest but always takes place during the same time frame to capture some of the out-of-town attendees.
Early bird tickets, which are available through Tuesday, cost $75, but starting Wednesday, tickets go up to $125.
The initial program and schedule has been posted at techmunchtx.com, and Pepaj will be adding sessions in the coming weeks.
