Austin360Cooks: Lamb steak and bacon-wrapped asparagus

Some of you brave cooks might have been grilling all summer, but I can’t be bothered when it’s 100 degrees and the backyard is full of nothing but nearly dead grass.

With this photo of bacon-wrapped asparagus and a bone-in lamb steak, Ane Urquiola, who Instagrams under the handle @hungrygirlaustin and blogs at HungryGirlAustin.com, reminded me that the best grilling months are ahead.

With the cool weather that blew in on Friday, we also saw our first chicken tortilla soup photos (not just one, but three!), as well as posole and matzo ball soup, and you all are going crazy with prickly pears lately! @mexicanity shared this tutorial on how to peel them, @natalieparamore made this prickly pear galette, and @marymakesdinner showed how she removed the spines.

What are you looking forward to grilling (or cooking) now that the hottest days of summer seem to be behind us? Let us know at Austin360.com/relishaustin or add the #Austin360Cooks hashtag to your photo on Instagram or Twitter to show off your hard work.
