Austin is the biggest city in the United States without a franchise in a major professional sports league. This leaves high school, college and minor-league teams plenty of room to stomp around the town. Seven-time Tour de France champion Lance Armstrong calls Austin home because of the bicycle-friendly Texas Hill Country and the variety of outdoor recreational activities.
