South By Southwest fans, you’re going to like this one. If you’re already tired of the festival juggernaut, this won’t change your opinion.
Four Loko (yes, that Four Loko; everyone creates content these days) recently compiled a map of the “most epic outdoor parties” in every state.
Which party won Texas?
You guessed it — SXSW.
Despite SXSW being more than an outdoor party, Four Loko describes the festival as a “two week film, media and music festival/conference known for celebrity sightings and cutting-edge everything.”
If you’re sick of SXSW and want to see some other wild and crazy outdoor parties, Four Loko’s list might prove to be a great starting point. Besides the usual music festivals (Tennessee’s most epic fest was Bonnaroo) and various Oktoberfests, there’s some truly unique parties out there in the country.
For instance, at Maine’s Redneck Blank Pig Roast and Music Festival, you can bob for pigs’ feet and challenge your friends to a wife hauling race. Or if you want to drive out west to New Mexico, there’s the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, where you can see more than 500 hot air balloons every night.
