Houston, we love you: Send us your love letters to Space City

Some of us were born there. Some of our best friends from school grew up there. Some of us remember family trips there. And some of just know a good neighbor when we see one.

We love you, Houston. Austin’s neighbor to the southeast, hit hard by the storm that made landfall in Texas as Hurricane Harvey, continues to struggle with devastating, deadly floods, which began over the weekend. But Houston — home of Buffalo Bayou, Beyonce, Breakfast Klub and the Beltway — is strong. Now more than ever, it’s time to show that Austin stands with its Lone Star sibling.

We want your love letters to Space City and the surrounding communities. They can be actual letters, messages of goodwill or just what you like most about H-Town. Post them in the comments here or send us a message on the Austin American-Statesman page. We’ll publish our favorite submissions in the next few days.

But remember, the people of Houston need your help first. Find ways you can aid the Harvey relief effort here.
