Family outraged over son’s suspension for finger gun

Nickolas Taylor, a fifth-grader at Stacy Middle School in Milford, Massachusetts was handed a two-day suspension for making a gun shape with his finger and pointing at two students.

Grandfather Rory O’Brien told FOX 25 that the child’s punishment was “totally ridiculous.”

However, school administrators claim that two students told the assistant principal that they felt threatened by the gesture. Taylor’s misconduct slip listed his offense as a threat, and the discipline options outlined in the school conduct policy includes suspension.

Taylor has no history of behavior-related discipline issues. The fifth-grader has been diagnosed with ADHD.

Father Brian Taylor told FOX 25 that he was in the process of transitioning his son to home schooling.
