The first episode of “Mike Judge Presents: Tales From the Tour Bus,” featuring stories about Johnny Paycheck, premiered on Cinemax on Sept. 22. This Friday, part one of a series on George Jones and Tammy Wynette will air. Another episode about Jerry Lee Lewis aired on Sept. 29.

You can watch the first episode for free on Cinemax here. The half-hour animated comedy series “chronicles the tales of some of country music’s most eccentric characters.”

Initial reviews have been positive, with outlets calling the show “both exactly what it sounds like and so much more”;  “a kind of ensemble cousin to ‘Drunk History’”;  a “wholly engaging series that even non-country fans should love” and “unlike anything else on TV.”

Cinemax has ordered eight episodes of the show, so there’s still plenty of time to get caught up, if you are so inclined.
