‘You’re my butter half’ mural in East Austin vandalized

The “You’re my butter half” mural in East Austin is the latest iconic local mural to be hit by vandals.

The mural, on the wall of the United Way of Greater Austin building at 2000 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., is one of Austin’s most popular photo spots.

In March, the iconic “I love you so much” mural at Jo’s Coffee on South Congress was vandalized and quickly fixed. In May, a mural on 12th and Chicon streets in East Austin was painted over, which raised concern from East Austin residents. Austin’s black cultural district has taken over plans to have the wall repainted.
