This new Austin convention is BYOC — bring your own cat

Is petting, feeding and showing constant and unfaltering love for your cat not enough?

A new cat-loving event coming to the Palmer Events Center in August might be purr-fect for you. According to Culture Map, Austin will host its first all-cat, cat-loving, cat-themed convention Aug. 25-26. And this isn’t a leave-your-cat-at-home affair.

So long as your feline friend is properly vaccinated and on a harness or in a carrier, you are more than welcome to bring them along. The event, called POP Cats, will feature cat play areas, feline experts, cat adoptions and live  music and vendors from all across Texas, Culture Map reports. The full lineup of vendors and artists will be released in April.

The first POP Cats event was held in Florida last year. You can buy tickets ahead of time until March 31.
